Mossy jacket

It looks like Im going backwards on the items Ive made my nephew!

(sorry about the photos, they were taken at night)

This is the second one I made him and it was gifted at the baby shower, along with a pair of matching booties and a non-matching hat.

The hat will be shown at a later stage, all I can say at the moment is that I saw it on him yesterday and my sister told me that its the only one thats stayed on his head! She says when he moves his head from side to side, the others fall off immediately, but this one stays on him!! Yayy!

Cardigan

Pattern: Mossy Jacket

Yarn: Jaegar Baby Merino (no link, sorry)
Yarn Edges: Rowan Calmer
Needles: 5 & 5.5mm

Sizes: 0-6 months

Booties
(I didnt do the crochet flower)

Pattern: Drops knitted booties with crochet flower

Yarn: Jaegar Baby Merino
Crocheted edge: Rowan Calmer
Needles: ?5mm, can’t remember

The booties took a long time to make, for items so small. Im not sure that I’d use the pattern again, because of that, and because also R says that they dont stay on his feet….but I suppose they are still a little big for him at the moment which may have a part to play in that.

The stripey one

I’m actually able now to show a few things that I made for my sister’s baby now!
She reads the blog (Hi R!) though I’m sure she will say that she won’t have time to read it now for the next 10 years at least…
I made this cardigan for my nephew before we knew he was a boy. My sister had approved the colours as suitable for either sex.  If it doesnt look like it from your monitor, its a purple and mauve mix. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would..

Its nice and soft and snuggly though and will keep him warm. I thought it looked more like a traditional cardigan versus the newer designs out there, especially as we didnt know if it was a boy or a girl when I cast on. R says that he looks like his Grandad when he’s wearing it ;-)

This was the 3rd cardigan I made him.

Pattern: Striped cardigan from Baby Cashmerino 2 by Debbie Bliss
Yarn: Rowan Wool Cotton, purchased from a friend who was destashing.
Needles: 3mm

Size: 0-6 months

I had planned on doing a baby hat and socks to match but I only finished the cardigan just before the baby was born and I was sick of 2 row stripes at that stage so went on to do the soakers instead…

Soakers

Some Soakers:

Pattern: Wool diaper cover

Yarn: Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted

Needles: 5mm

Sizes: 0-6 months, except I messed up in the blue and green one and think I did a mixture of newborn and 0-6 months.  Oops.

I LOVE this pattern, and LOVE this yarn.

I ordered some Lanolin from Natures Nursery, it said it was out of stock on the website but would be reordered, and low and behold, it turned up on my doorstep 2 days later!! I was very impressed. Talk about good service.
