I’m actually able now to show a few things that I made for my sister’s baby now!
She reads the blog (Hi R!) though I’m sure she will say that she won’t have time to read it now for the next 10 years at least…
I made this cardigan for my nephew before we knew he was a boy. My sister had approved the colours as suitable for either sex. If it doesnt look like it from your monitor, its a purple and mauve mix. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would..

Its nice and soft and snuggly though and will keep him warm. I thought it looked more like a traditional cardigan versus the newer designs out there, especially as we didnt know if it was a boy or a girl when I cast on. R says that he looks like his Grandad when he’s wearing it

This was the 3rd cardigan I made him.
Pattern: Striped cardigan from Baby Cashmerino 2 by Debbie Bliss
Yarn: Rowan Wool Cotton, purchased from a friend who was destashing.
Needles: 3mm
Size: 0-6 months
I had planned on doing a baby hat and socks to match but I only finished the cardigan just before the baby was born and I was sick of 2 row stripes at that stage so went on to do the soakers instead…

That’s lovely! Really nice, makes me want to make one too
(I won’t, but I do have a striped jumper planned with those colours)

HI Sara
its the sis with the nephew!! He is asleep still (to be woken shortly for some grub) so i logged on as i wanted to see the pic of his wee feet, aaw!
i have to say i love this cardi on him, it is so warm and snug, plus i love purple, and my fave pattern is stripes. what more can i say!! the cardi is unfortunately out of action at the mo as he puked up on it the other day so im waiting for some more puked on wool things to wash with it (eco friendly me).
i also love the bibs you knit for him, told you this already but wanted to publicise it officially, and def think you should put some on your etsy site. i will do a testimonial for it if you like!!
