The raisen of cereal

I love cereal in the mornings for my breakfast.

I am one of those people who actually like the healthier cereals, porridge, wheetabix, shredded wheat etc etc.

I don’t love raisens, and a lot of cereals have raisens in them.

Don’t get me wrong, I love raisens by themselves, we used to get little boxes of raisens in our lunchboxes when we were kids, I like the plants that they come from- grapes, and I like whats made out of them also- wine.  MMmmmmm.

Just not in my cereal.

So, if Im eating a cereal that has raisens in it, I spend a few minutes meticulously picking them out.

I dont mind other stuff in there, like cranberries, or apple, and I love nuts in there…just NOT raisens.

What about you, how do you eat yours?

There were no raisens harmed in the making of this entry.

  2. I like cranberries in cereal too…although I do like raisins as well. Nuts too…and it must be a “healthy” cereal. But not too much milk, I don’t like milk…But it’s kind of a must with cereal, isnt’ it? :o 7 Happy Day ((HUGS))

  3. Funny, the ONLY place I like raisins is in cereal, because when the cold milk hits them, they get nice and hard and chewy, which is the only way I like raisins. I will not eat cooked raisins (oatmeal raisin cookies are my most hated of cookies) and I don’t like them right out of the box either…without that cold milk/gummy texture, they seem too much like bugs to me!

  4. Me, I love the raisins. It’s the seeds I can’t stand.

Oh, now, I should say – sultanas? Disgusting. Completely revolting. But raisins are fine.

  5. Cereal raisins are even more shriveled than regular raisins. Half the time they have sugar stuck to them. That said, I never go out of my way to take them out. I feel the same way about cereal “marshmallows”, too. Like Lucky Charms. It’s like eating sweetened styrofoam – there’s nothing marshmallowy about it! Again, I still eat them.

  6. Don’t like raisins either. Cereal is a night time food for me. Milk in the morning??? Aaaahhh!! The stomach curdles.
