A Lazy Sunday day, yeah I know its now Wednesday!

Filed under: Sewing — sweensie @ 10:12 pm

I had a little bit of time to myself on Sunday and had great plans.
I was going to:
Sew
Cycle my new Be Eye See Why See Ellie up to see my Mammy and my Daddy
Sew some more
Drink Tea
Ponder Life
Cast on and start knitting another top, ….for myself
Drink more Tea

Instead, I:

Lounged around the place a bit

Thought about going for that bike ride
Cut out some felt and did some sewing
Tossed felt into bin after sewing disastor
Spent some time on the phone catching up with some friends
Texted my boy to see how the match was going (badly)
Decided on several different sewing projects I wanted to do
Got out all my material to use for the patterns I decided on.
Put back half of the material I had decided on.
Spent at least half an hour trying to find my ruler.
Texted my boy again, match still not going too well
Used my measuring tape and the side of a sturdy placemat to mark out material, in lieu of still absent ruler.
Cut out material

And then it was 9pm and I had to have some food or else collapse!

Details:

1.  Artsy Clutch from Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol of angry chicken Fame.

I sewed the elastic a little off centre by pure mistake, but then thought it would look really nice if I put the button off centre too…and I think it turned out just right.

2.  Simple Leather-handled Shoulder bag from Amy Butlers In Stitches.

I didn’t have any leather or anything like leather for the handles, so I made the handles from some fabric, by folding themselves in on themselves on either side, and sewing up along the edge. The fabric I used for this was slightly elasticated, and had lines in the pattern which made it quite easy to sew up straight hee hee.

I havent used either of them yet, but have plans, oh yes, plans.

  1. Oh, I love the little clutch bag and I know about those days with lots of planning and not so much doing but I think you have some cool stuff to show for your day all the same.

  3. Very nice handiwork Sara. If that’s a lazy day’s work, lazy is good.
