Overflowing yarn

Filed under: Yarn Love — sweensie @ 5:03 pm

Don’t you just love it when you go to a charity shop, see bins overflowing with yarn, and realise they have just been put out?

It doesn’t happen here too often, let me tell you.

When it does, you just have to take it home with you.

It looked like this was the result of someone’s much loved stash being put into the charity shop after (s)he passed away. there was even a half finished baby cardigan.

This lot was the best of it.  I went through it all, and there was a lot there that didn’t have any labels on them. I picked out what I thought wasn’t acrylic from the non labelled ones, and the rest that had labels on them saying they weren’t acrylic either.

I like this yarn, colour isn’t great on this I’m afraid, but its a moss green colour

and the blue skeins definately have enough in them to make a top for myself. There are even some rolled up by hand balls of this yarn, as if the owner had plans and was about to start on a project.

There was also a mass of bright pink and bright orange skeins, definately acrylic, and I decided that I wouldn’t be able to use them.

Went home and then thought that they would make really cool toys, went back the next day and someone else had been in, and gone home rubbing their hands in glee like I had the previous day.

Ah well, thats the way the cookie crumbles :-D

  2. That was a great find. Its not often now that one finds such a stash in the charity shops. I think they are whipped up quickly if they are. Enjoy
