Tangelled Angel

Well, now I know that I can’t post from my phone!! I tried earlier on in the day and it looked like it posted okay (from my mobile). What this post should have said was that I’m sorry about the mix up with the comments on that previous post.  Somehow they got turned off, must have been a ghostie, and I didnt realise it. 

Laura, for some reason your comment got lost somewhere. Couldn’t find it anywhere even though I approved it.  It was before I realised the comments had been turned off.  Must have been that ghostie again.

So, there you go. No more trying things out from my mobile without knowing what I’m doing!!

The Amalfi Coast in Italy, for anyone who hasn’t been there, is actually mainly built on the side of the mountains. This means that the roads are way up on the side of the mountain, and you really need a strong stomach to drive those roads! We took the bus to different towns in the area, to Sorrento, Amalfi and passed by Positano which is what you see there in the distance.  Its a good half hour walk down steep roads from the road to Positano.

The building you see on the right hand side of that photo is actually a hotel.  There is almost no sign of it from the road, there may be an area to park a few cars, and what looks like a lobby, but it really a lift down to the hotel, which is built on the side of the mountain. That hotel had its own sea area, which means there is an area down by the sea where you can lay your towels down if you want to sunbathe, and had a little cafe type area also.  No place to swim, the sea looked to be too rough there and I wouldn’t be sure how they would get back out of the sea. We had small binoculars with us and it was amazing to see the winding stairs down from the hotel to this sunning area! you would need a lot of energy and plenty of rest sops on the way back!!

We took this photo after going searching for the second “beach” in Praiano, only to find (after 420 steps down) that there was no beach at all, even though they called it Fire Beach. Again there was an area where you could put your towels down and maybe a beach chair or two, and a cafe, but no-where safe enough to go swimming.

Disappointing for us, meant we had to turn around and climb back up those exhausting 420 steps! But at least we knew where the proper beach was so we headed there instead.

Haven’t made any plans as yet, just enjoying the moment!

Okay what I was alluding to in the last post, was that while we were in Rome, on our last night there, Micheal asked me to marry him!!!  And (of course) I said YES!

So since we have returned from Italy, we have been busy doing the rounds with family and some friends, telling them the news, and celebrating left right and centre! My liver needs a little time to recover now I think from all the champagne and other alcohol that have been consumed since we got back (not to mention the detox needed after Italy!)

So.  I’m sure that you understand why I’ve been a bit quiet since I returned.

Haven’t had much time between the above, and also my brother and his wife are over from Arizona for a few days and we had a belated wedding party yesterday for them, with family and some friends so there was a lot of preparation to do for that. Lots of food prepared between us, here’s the table with it all laid out, before everyone arrived

As it was a quite hot day here, we left everything covered until the last minute.

So today, we have been resting up a bit more, had a much needed lie in, and catching up on some neglected blog reading and commenting, thinking about casting on for some projects, thinking about doing some sewing, not actually doing any!

I’ll be around a bit more from now on and will finally get to reply to any comments of emails that have been sent to me in the last while! Pressure is off (for now!! )

Still catching up on things, lots to do, no time to blog properly, but oh wow, you are in for it when I do!!!
