This past week and a half had been soo soo busy for me, I have hardly had time to breathe!!
So I’m really sorry if I havent replied to anyone, I will be sure to get back to you after I get back.
In the meantime, I will be raising a glass of Italian Red Wine for you in…oh, say 20 hours time?
I have also signed up for the Knitters Tea Swap and will be on the hunt for some goodies for my pal while I’m away.
The Knitters Treat Exchange is in its final stages, best treater is being drawn soon, and there are some great entries for it! Go and check out the entries!
I leave you with a photo of some fab goats cheese, olive and tomato tarts that my sister and I made for a secret party for my boyfriends birthday. Yes, 2 of these ones are gone, there was a lot more eaten in the making!! Party was a success, and wow he was surprised!!
Hand model is my sister Therese by the way, and the lovely Ruth helped with the making of them

I’m only showing you the above in small mode as I’m not too fond of flashing feet on blogs. I’m not that fond of feet.
This however, is a close up of pattern, not feet.

Lorna’s Laces, stash item for a looong time.
Knitting them on size 2.25mm circulars, and having problems with the bamboo, its not liking the yarn. Getting to be a bit of a chore already.
I’ve contacted Lisa from This is Knit to see if she stocked 2.25mm in Addi’s but she says that the company don’t supply them in 2.25mm, but do them in 2mm and 2.5mm. I could pick them up on Sunday, I think I have a 5 minute slot free, lol. I’d have to go for the 2.5mm though, I can’t see myself going down to 2mm.
Hmm… what to do…I want to bring this as my WIP on holidays with me on Monday but as I have already tried 3 different patterns before settling on this one (Elfine’s socks), which I’ve wanted to do for quite a while, and since I’ve had to frog each of those, I’m not too keen on frogging another one.Â
Besides, its working…. pattern wise, just getting a little tired of doing the battle with the yarn V needles. A little sore on the hands also.
I like it though, the way its turning out, and love the way the toe turned out!! This is the first figure eight cast on toe that I’m really really really  liking.
Happy birthday to my M today!! I’m sure he will have a great day!
Whats this? An empty paper bag on the floor??Â

Not an empty bag with Reggie aroundÂ

Ronnie: Where’s Reg gone, I thought he was around here somewhereÂ

Reggie: Oh no, I’ve been sussed!!!

Reggie does his really annoyed face

Ooeeoeeeoooo,
my guys are FAMOUS!!!
Thanks to Kristen for thinking they were that cheesy- they really are!!
So, even though I’m doing five million things at the one time at the moment, and havent enough hours or even minutes in the day at the moment, I did get some time to sew the pot holders that I had knit previously.Â

Well, I tell a little lie, I sewed 2 of them.

Â
2 out of 5 isn’t too bad, is it?

These went home with my sister tonight. I’m pretty pleased with the way they turned out.Â
Now to sew the rest….I’m way overdue giving one to my Mum….

Do all cats have this fascination with washing machines, or is it just mine?
Actually, thinking about it, Ronnie ignores it altogether. Its just another white box that makes funny noises sometimes.
Reggie will even go up and have a go at it when there isn’t any washing in it and its not on!!! Weird or what?

Have you any idea of how often I see this?Â

Then staring at the door handle as if its going to magically open by itself. Sometimes accompanied by a pityful meow, as if to let the neighbours know how badly I’m treating him.
On the off chance the door is going to be opened, being joined by his brother.

Both staring at the handle now, just willing it to be opened.

And I open it for them, thus making their psychic powers work.
Five minutes, nay, sometimes ONE minute into being inside, they are on the other side of that door, wanting out.Â
It begins again.

My Knitters Treater, Carol asked me to let her know what I thought of the chocolate and tea that she sent.
Well. I have been rushing about ever since I got the parcel, and today is the first time I have had a chance to sit down and actually enjoy a cup of tea that hasn’t been made from a bog standard tea bag.
Yes, I am off work today, I drove my bf, his sister and neice to the airport at the craic of dawn and have been sitting catching up on bloglines, which I haven’t done in a few days, drinking tea, knitting while reading and generally chilling out. Bliss.
So I brewed a cup of Tea Room Blend, the first of 3 blends that had been sent to me.
Verdict?
Very smooth, easy going cup of tea. Perhaps caffeine free? Nice. Good tea to start off the day.
Can you tell I’m really bad at describing things??!!Â
The tea came from love joys tea room by the way. Don’t you just love the bottomless pot of tea idea they have???? I never get enough tea in the pot when I’m out.
Tea cup above came from a friend of my friend Sherri (blogless) who does some great pottery pieces (both Sherri and her friend).

Everytime we go down to Clare, the flowers are in a different stage of bloom.
We often see a different flower each trip.
These are some of my favourite flowers, and my Mums also. They remind her of where she grew up, Listowel, Co. Kerry.
(What about you, Margaret?)
This bee was busy making sure that there would be more next year!

So, I’m still a little obsessed with the pattern that I had made the Lisa Souza bootees from the last time.
I have actually since cast on again for another pair. That’s after casting on and frogging about 2 others, wrong gadge, wrong yarn, just wrong altogether.
I like these though. May have to do another pair in this yarn again.

I got home on Sunday and decided to make another bag, based on the previous drawstring bag.
I got some of this fabric on Saturday after our outdoor knitting.
This will be an accompaniment to knitted booties for one of the babies. I’m sure that one of the Mums would like it! A bit like a dual pressie, booties for baby and bag for Mum.

Again, I used a contrasting fabric inside. I like the idea of having a surprise inside.

So, Saturday came and we headed down to our usual place for Saturday knitting, to discover it closed again. Must be due to the bank holiday, it was closed the last bank holiday also, though we thought it was because it was Easter that time.
So we headed off to Dublin Castle again and spent a lovely couple of hours chatting, knitting and catching up.
I liked this mosaic piece that was in the little nook we found.Â
Every now and then it gave a tremendous bubble. I half expected to see a snorkler raise their head from the water!!
